Solar Velocity has a need for a Senior Software Development Manager based in our Smyrna, Georgia office.
Solar Velocity has a need for a Senior Software Development Manager based in our Smyrna, Georgia office. As a member of our team you will play a key role in providing technical leadership from a development management perspective to guide efforts for Clients developing systems and software in the online and mobile applications space.
Day to day responsibilities will be 50% development and 50% management. This may fluctuate on internal needs.
Solution Development and Delivery
- Provides technical direction for the development, design, and systems integration for client engagement from definition phase through implementation.
- Applies significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve service to our clients.
- Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
Technical Effort Management
- Creates and executes development plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, including writing technical specifications and functional requirements documentation.
- Keeps project manager well informed of status of development effort and serves as liaison between development staff and project manager.
- Responsible for managing technical risks throughout the project.
Technical Expertise
- 10+ years in a Software Development field (software programming, project oversight, technical lead, etc.)
- 3+ years in technical leadership/program management
- 3+ years in leading a team of developers in creating online applications
- OOP development in .NET C# primarily with understanding of other programming languages (.Net 4.0 / ASP.NET / VB.NET / SQL Server 2008 / Design Patterns)
- Strong experience with project management and Software Development Lifecycle processes
Communication
- Facilitates team and client meetings effectively.
- Holds regular status meetings with development team.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
- Exceptional organizational skills including time management and planning as well as the proven ability to lead a team development project.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required as well as problem solving capabilities and critical thinking.
Client Management
- Manages client interaction and expectations regarding development efforts.
- Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions.
- Builds a knowledge base of each client's business, systems and objectives.
